KOWALCZYK, Eva (Manjack)<br />

Houtzdale - Mrs Eva Kowalczyk, 63, of Houtzdale, died at 1:20 p.m. yesterday in the<br />

Philipsburg State General Hospital following a lengthy illness. A daughter of Mr. and<br />

Mrs. Michael Manjack, she was born at Smoke Run Sept. 27, 1906. She was a member of<br />

St. Barbara's Catholic Church. She is survived <strong>by</strong> her husband, John, and four children:<br />

Mrs. John (Rose) Bungo, Tonawanda, N.Y.; Mrs. John (Marian) Burns, Grand Island,<br />

N.Y.; Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Gallagher, Waldorf, Md.; and John Kowalczyk, Endicott,<br />

N.Y. Eighteen grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers also survive: Mrs. Clara<br />

Fivelo and John Manjack, New York City; Mrs Mary Sacolic, Ramey: Mrs. Susan<br />

Fundanish, Smoke Run; and Michael Manjack, Pittsburgh. A number of nieces and<br />

nephews also survive. She was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> her parents, two sisters and two<br />

brothers. Friends will be received in the Raymond M. Hayes Funeral Home Saturday and<br />

Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday prior to the services in St. Barbara's Church at 9:30<br />

a.m. The Rev. Leonard M. Kuziora will officiate and interment will be in the church<br />

KOZAK, Catherine (Blaha)<br />

IRVONA - Catherine (Blaha) Kozak, 83, who made her home for the past eight months<br />

with Mr. and Mrs. Casey Jones of Irvona, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at<br />

Altoona Hospital. Mrs. Kozak formerly resided in Ginter. Born April 30, 1914, in Viola,<br />

Gulich Township, she was the daughter of Metro and Mary (Zazworsky) Blaha. She was<br />

assistant postmaster for Ginter for 40 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic<br />

Church, Ramey. She is survived <strong>by</strong> four sisters, Mrs. William (Anna) Rawls and Mrs.<br />

Alvin (Olga) Elliot, both of New Jersey, Marge Gursky of Florida and Mary Rudison of<br />

Ohio; a brother, Michael Blaha of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. She was<br />

preceded in death <strong>by</strong> her parents, her husband, Raymond A. Kozak on June 18, 1995; and<br />

a daughter, Marjory Ann. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday<br />

at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Killian Shuman, T.O.R., as celebrant. Friends<br />

will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 8-9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Kruise<br />

Funeral Home Inc., Ramey. A Vigil Prayer service followed <strong>by</strong> the Rosary will begin at 8<br />

p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Shuman.<br />

KOZICKI, Leo A.<br />

KOZICKI - Leo A., 77, Sixth Street, Colver, died May 24, 2000, at Conemaugh hospital.<br />

Born Dec. 25, 1922, in Six Mile Run, Pa., son of John and Sophie (Beres) Kozicki.<br />

Preceded in death <strong>by</strong> parents; beloved grandson, David Kozicki; brothers, Edward, Paul,<br />

Pete, Stanley; and sister, Verna. Survived <strong>by</strong> wife of 56 years, former Mary Ellen<br />

Zawiskie; son, Dennis; daughter-in-law, Mary, Warren, Mich.; and beloved grandson,<br />

Danny Kozicki. Brother of Ted, Tommy, John, Joe; sisters, Virginia Price, Leona<br />

Kowardy, Bernardine McCloskey, and Sandra Kozicki; also survived <strong>by</strong> many nieces and<br />

nephews; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law; and his dog and best friend, "Bootsie."<br />

Retired from Ring Screw Works, Warren, Mich., with 35 years service. Army veteran of<br />

World War II. Friends received from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matevish and Matevish<br />

Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Friday. Funeral Mass,<br />

10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Colver, the Rev. James Coveney.
