Port of Livorno 2000 is the company<br />

created by the Livorno Port Authority to<br />

manage the city’s passenger port, and<br />

cruise and ferry terminals.<br />

Livorno is the natural gateway to the<br />

cities of Tuscany, which can be easily<br />

reached thanks to the accessible rail and<br />

road connections.<br />

Over the last two years the Livorno<br />

Port Authority and Port of Livorno 2000<br />

fostered the development of the<br />

passenger port, which became fully<br />

operational in 2009.<br />

The new dock, Molo Italia 42 South<br />

Side, was christened at the end of 2008<br />

welcoming the 154,000t, 240m-long<br />

Independence of the Seas.<br />

In 2009 a new 300m berth – N.75 –<br />

was dedicated to cruising. Located<br />

in the middle of Porta a Mare, it is<br />

a short walk from the town centre<br />

and promenade.<br />

the largest refineries in Iberia.<br />

The Oporto complex currently has an<br />

annual distillation capacity of<br />

approximately 4.4 million tonnes a year<br />

(90,000 barrels per day). The Oporto<br />

refinery includes petrochemical aromatic<br />

and base oil plants. �<br />

The Port of Livorno became operational in 2009.<br />

Costa <strong>Cruise</strong> Lines recently<br />

announced the maiden voyage of Costa<br />

Deliziosa in Livorno. �<br />
