In 2007, the Mexican federal government invested more than $30
million in the construction of two docking positions at Puerto Vallarta,
increasing port capacity to accommodate three 311m-long vessels.
This year, the port will renew a 105m-long section of the first dock,
which was constructed in 1969.
The project will start on 15 March and is expected to be finished by
31 August. During this time cruise calls will be received at docks 2 and
3, which are fully operational. The project includes the construction of
two mooring dolphins, which will give the best possible security to the
vessels calling at the port.
