The port’s quays are ISPS-compliant and can handle the<br />
largest cruise vessels. The total available quay length is 1,762m.<br />
A luggage drop-off and reclaim hall is available as well as<br />
luggage transport vehicles, luggage storage and screening areas,<br />
and porter services.<br />
There is a shuttle bus within the terminal as well as transport<br />
for the physically challenged.<br />
It is only a 15 minute walk to the historical centre of Valletta,<br />
while various means of transportation are available at<br />
economical rates. For passengers arriving and departing by air,<br />
Malta’s international airport is only 6km away.<br />
In 2008 VISET Malta, operator of the Valletta Waterfront and<br />
the Valletta Sea passenger terminals, extended its main quay. In<br />
addition, the Malta Maritime Authority inaugurated a 383m<br />
terminal at Boiler Wharf across the harbour from VISET’s<br />
terminals. Shore-side operations at the port are complemented<br />
by various shops, cafes, restaurants and other amenities close to<br />
