186 Recommendation Female spouses of patients with cancer are at high risk of deteriorated QoL immediately after diagnosis and require special attention to their psychosocial care needs. Our results show that most patients with a cancer diagnosis cope well. However, partners are often overlooked. Especially female partners, who take on care-taking burden, suffer from detriments in quality of life. Specific psychological help and coaching is not only important for patients but is also especially important for their life partners.
