March 16, 1906 – Feb. 4, <strong>2002</strong><br />
Ellener W. MANWARING, 95, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday at her Grace Village<br />
Retirement Community, Winona Lake, residence.<br />
Born in Warsaw to Harry and Isadora PYLE NYE, she married Charles L.<br />
MANWARING July 20, 1935 in Elkhart. He died Aug. 18, 1974.<br />
Mrs. Manwaring was a graduate of Warsaw High School and International Business<br />
College, Fort Wayne. She was a member of Mentone United Methodist Church, the Mentone<br />
Reading Club, Delta <strong>The</strong>ta Tau Sorority, Warsaw, and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern<br />
Star. She was active in the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and was a volunteer at<br />
Kosciusko Community Hospital.<br />
Survivors include two sons, Frank N. [MANWARING] and wife Mary, Warsaw, James<br />
L. [MANWARING] and wife Jo, Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Jennifer ZACHARY and husband<br />
Dan, Julie REED and husband Scott, Deron MANWARING and wife Ana, Dayne<br />
MANWARING and wife Cristi, Sam MANWARING and wife Linette, Derek MANWARING<br />
and wife Katrina and Deneal MANWARING; 12 great-grandchildren.<br />
Preceding in death with her husband was one brother, Harry NYE Jr.<br />
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Rev. Glenn<br />
BYERS officiating. Burial will be at Mentone cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m.<br />
Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.<br />

Harold L. Reese<br />
April 10, 1915 – Feb. 5, <strong>2002</strong><br />
Harold L. REESE, 86, Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester, died at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday at St.<br />
Joseph Hospital, South Bend.<br />
Born in Rochester to Fred A. and Clara Fern MUTCHLER REESE, he married Helen<br />
Josephine WYLIE April 23, 1939 in North Manchester. She survives.<br />
Mr. Reese lived most of his life in Rochester, spending some time in Serbia and<br />
Cornstalk Park, Mich. He retired in 1979 after 30 years as a machinist at Sealed Power Corp.,<br />
Rochester. He owned Third Street Grocery, Rochester, was a farmer and was developer of Reese<br />
Addition, Rochester. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he was a lay<br />
leader, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Messenger Sunday school class, trustee and<br />
finance chairman and co-founder of the Grace UMC Historical Records Room.<br />
Twice named Rochester Kiwanis Club’s most valuable member of the year, he was a<br />
member of <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Prill School Museum Association<br />
and Friends of the <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Library</strong>. He was a 26-year member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
Historical Society, where he helped build many projects, and of the Manitou Motorcycle Club.<br />
Mr. Reese was named, along with his wife, co-grand marshall of the 1994 <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> Round<br />
Barn Festival Parade and received an award for 25 years volunteer service with the <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
Historical Society. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and Indian artifacts.<br />
Surviving with his wife, at home, are one daughter, Elaine GILLILAND, Carmel; one<br />
grandson, Jack G. DAULTON, Lenoir, N.C.; two stepgrandsons, Robert GILLILAND,<br />
Mooresville, Richard GILLILAND, Orlando, Fla.; six great-grandchildren.<br />
Preceding in death were two brothers, Ralph and A. Buryl REESE.<br />
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with<br />
Rev. Rick TAYLOR officiating. Burial will be at Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call
