Jan. 11, 1917 – Feb. 16, 2002
Helen L. REECE, 85, Rochester, died at 10:55 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Hospital.
Born in Aurora, Ill., to Albert and Charlotte MAYNARD BRANDT, she married Charles
F. REECE Sept. 16, 1938. He died Aug. 22, 1987.
Survivors include one son, Richard C. and wife Diane M. REECE, Rochester; one
grandson, Michael and wife Lisa REECE and two great-granddaughters, Alex-andra REECE and
Christina REECE, all of Colorado Springs; one sister, Shirley SOLOMON and one nephew, Craig
SOLOMON, both of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
No servicse or visitation are planned. Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, is
in charge of arrangements.
Wilda N. Culp
March 21, 1915 – Feb. 15, 2002
Wilda Nolan McKEE CULP, 86, formerly of Logansport, died at 8:55 p.m. Friday at her
Bradenton, Fla., residence.
Born in Cass County to Jess and Celestia MARQUIS YANKEE, she married Chester A.
CULP Oct. 31, 1931 in Logansport. He died May 8, 2001.
Mrs. Culp was a retired Standard Food Co. meat cutter. She was a nurse at St. Joseph
Hospital, Logansport. She attended Miami Baptist Church and was a member of Clay Township
Extension Homemakers.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis CULP, Palmetto, Fla., Marjorie SKINNER and
husband Richard, Bradenton, Fla.; one son, Kenneth [CULP] and wife Bev, Bradenton, Fla.; 20
grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda
CIESIELSKI.
Preceding in death with her husband were two sons, Albert “Hotshot” Fenton CULP and
David Blane CULP, one granddaughter, Sondra HUGHES-BECKETT, one sister, Pauline
BAUGHER, and two brothers, Wayne and Archie YANKEE.
Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gundrum Funeral Home, 1603 E. Broadway St.,
Logansport. Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport. Friends may call
from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hopice of Southwest
Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Okie Lester
April 9, 1916 – Feb. 20, 2002
Okie LESTER, 85, North Manchester, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller’s Merry
Manor, Warsaw.
Born in Buchanan County, Va., to George W. and Bessie LOONEY BAILEY, she
married Lawrence LESTER Oct. 5, 1940. He died Nov. 27, 1993.
Mrs. Lester retired from United Technologies after 25 years and was a homemaker. She
was a member of Northern Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church, Sydney.
