Donald R. Pressel<br />

Sept. 14, 1924 – Feb. 21, <strong>2002</strong><br />

Donald R. PRESSEL, 77, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at his 208 N. Mishawaka St.,<br />

Akron, residence.<br />

Born in Indianapolis to Dewey and Alma HILTON PRESSEL, he married E. Jeanette<br />

“Jan” GORDON Feb. 14, 1953 in Huntington. She survives.<br />

Mr. Pressel was involved in farm credit for 25 years and farm equipment and buildings<br />

for 20 years. A member of Olive Branch Church of God, Roann, he was active in local and state<br />

youth ministries. He was a volunteer at Hope Hospice of <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> and Akron School in the<br />

industrial arts area and was an emergency medical technician. He served in the U.S. Navy during<br />

World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wabash, and a lifetime member<br />

of Lion’s International.<br />

Surviving with his wife, at home, are one daughter, Donita MERLEY and husband John,<br />

Akron; three sons, Richard [PRESSEL] and wife Cindy, and Randy [PRESSEL], all of Brazil,<br />

Rod [PRESSEL] and wife Kathy, Middletown; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one<br />

sister, Laverne WEDERZAL, Indianapolis; one brother, Paul Gerald PRESSEL, Indianapolis.<br />

Preceding in death were one daughter, Donna Jo, and one brother, Dewey [PRESSEL].<br />

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Olive Branch Church of God, Roann, with Rev.<br />

Lowell BURRUS officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery. <strong>The</strong> Wabash Veterans of Foreign<br />

Wars will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler<br />

Funeral Home, Akron. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong>.<br />

Marilyn S. Carrothers<br />

July 22, 1936 – Feb. 21, <strong>2002</strong><br />

Marilyn Sue CARROTHERS, 65, Macy, died at 6:12 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph<br />

Hospital, Kokomo.<br />

Born in Henry <strong>County</strong> to Cecil and Margaret BARRETT FIFER, she married Willis Dean<br />

CARROTHERS March 2, 1962 in Plymouth. He survives.<br />

Mrs. Carrothers was a homemaker.<br />

Surviving with her husband, at home, are two daughters, Angela CARROTHERS, North<br />

Manchester, and Kristi CARROTHERS, Culver; one brother, Phillip FIFER, Riverview, Fla.<br />

<strong>Public</strong> graveside services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Ebenezer Cemetery, Deedsville, with<br />

Rev. Steve FLECK officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at McClain Funeral Home,<br />

Denver.<br />

Eleanor O’Mahoney<br />

Eleanor O’MAHONEY, 79, Snellville, Ga., formerly of Rochester, died Wednesday.<br />

She is survived by one sister, Evelyn IRELAN, Indianapolis, and three nephews.<br />

Services are Saturday in Snellville, Ga. Burial will be at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Georgia.
