Florence M. WHITTENBERGER, 93, Whitehall, Mont., formerly of Rochester, died<br />

Tuesday at Crest Nursing Home, Butte, Mont. Arrangements are pending at Zimmerman Bros.<br />

Funeral Home, Rochester.<br />

Roger W. Ring<br />

Jan. 17, 1922 – Jan. 2, <strong>2002</strong><br />

Roger W. RING, 79, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday at his Claypool residence.<br />

Born to Russell and Golda JONES RING, he married Dorothy FORD Dec. 31, 1943. She survives.<br />

Mr. Ring was a Kosciusko <strong>County</strong> farmer and lifetime resident. He served in the U.S.<br />

Navy. He was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw.<br />

Surviving with his wife, at home, are four daughters, Renita Jo CONRAD and husband<br />

John, Kokomo, Donna RING, South Bend, Bonnie BURNWORTH and husband Greg, Winona<br />

Lake, Diane YEITER and husband Jerry, Warsaw; six grandchildren; one brother, Donald<br />

[RING], Claypool; one sister, Wilma BAREHAM, Warsaw.<br />

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Ivan<br />

FRENCH officiating. Burial will be at Palestine Cemetery, with military rites conducted by<br />

American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126, both of Warsaw. Friends may call<br />

from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kosciusko<br />

<strong>County</strong> Home Health CAre and Hospice, P.O. Box. 1196, Warsaw, IN 46581; Lakeland Child<br />

Wallace “Wally” Deaton<br />

April 18, 1929 – Jan. 3, <strong>2002</strong><br />

Wallace “Wally” DEATON, 72, died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday at his 1231 Franklin Ave.<br />

residence.<br />

Born in Hazard, Ky. to Willie and Armine CORRNETT DEATON, he came to Rochester<br />

from Hazard 45 years ago.<br />

Mr. Deaton was a retired truck operator at <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> REMC. He served in the U.S.<br />

Army during the Korean War, earning the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and the<br />

United Nations Service Medal with two Overseas Bars. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign<br />

Wars Post 1343, LeRoy Shelton American Legion 36, Eagles Lodge 852, Moose Lodge 1107,<br />

Ducks Unlimited, all of Rochester, and the Indiana State American Legion 40 & 8.<br />

Survivors include one daughter, Shari C. HARTZLER and husband Jim, Rochester; five<br />

grandchildren, Michelle QUICK, Leslee GOSS and husband Glenn, Jaymi HARTZLER, all of<br />

Rochester, Joe FOSTER and wife Katharine, Atlanta, Ga., Jonathan FOSTER and wife Dionda,<br />

Fishers; five great-grandchildren, Gryphen GOSS, Damon MYERS, Bailey QUICK, Makenna<br />

MORGAN, all of Rochester, and Carmen FOSTER, Fishers; one sister, Lora DAVIS, North Port,<br />

Fla.; three brothers, Dewey [DEATON] and wife Pauline, Combs, Ky., Earl [DEATON] and wife<br />

Ruthie, Macy, and Walter “Bill” [DEATON], Louisville, Ky.
