Services are at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Akron United Methodist Church with Rev.<br />

Stevan HAIFLICH officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call<br />

from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to Akron<br />

United Methodist Church’s air conditioning fund. Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, is in charge of<br />

arrangements.<br />

Arzerna N. PRICE, 86, formerly of Argos, died at 3:05 p.m. Monday at her residence at<br />

Life Care Center, Rochester. Arrangements are pending at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.<br />

A. Wayne Bowser<br />

April 1, 1924 – March 3, <strong>2002</strong><br />

A. Wayne BOWSER, 77, 412 N. Tucker St., Mentone, died Sunday at Kosciusko<br />

Community Hospital, Warsaw.<br />

Born in Mentone to Edward and Opal MARQUESS BOWSER, he married Phyllis<br />

LEMLER Dec. 30, 1945 in Mentone. She survives.<br />

Mr. Bowser, a lifetime Mentone area resident, was co-owner of L & B Foods, Mentone,<br />

was an Avon representative and worked at Mid-West Spring, Mentone. He was a member of First<br />

Baptist Church, Mentone, where he was treasurer, usher and trustee, a member of Mentone Lions<br />

Club, Mentone Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a U.S. Army veteran of<br />

World War II.<br />

Surviving with his wife, at home, are two daughters, Victoria SWIHART and husband<br />

Charles, Rochester, Debra REED and husband Terry, Mentone; one son, Frederick [BOWSER]<br />

and wife Lana, Akron; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, David<br />

[BOWSER] and wife Eileen, Mentone; four sisters, Margaret BRUNER, Elizabeth FLORY and<br />

husband Marion, all of Warsaw, Phyllis ALBER, Rochester, Rebecca STAVEDAHL and husband<br />

Larry, Mentone; mother-in-law, Lois LEMLER, Mentone.<br />

Preceding in death were his parents and three brothers.<br />

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Mentone, with Rev. Joe<br />

OLSON officiating. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m.<br />

Wednesday at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church,<br />

Mentone.<br />

Carl H. Oatney<br />

Carl H. OATNEY, 63, Wilmette, Ill., died Friday in Illinois. Graveside services will be at<br />

noon Thursday at Culver Masonic Cemetery.<br />

Elmer Baldwin<br />

June 6, 1931 – March 4, <strong>2002</strong><br />

Elmer BALDWIN, 70, Rochester, formerly of Leiters Ford, died at 4:40 a.m. Monday at<br />

Woodlawn Hospital.<br />

Born in Kewanna to Oliver Earnest and Alice Mae REAM BALDWIN, he married<br />

Elizabeth Ann EVANS Dec. 22, 1951 in Niles, Mich. She survives.<br />

Mr. Baldwin, a Vietnam veteran, retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he was an<br />

aircraft structural repair specialist. He also worked for the National Aeronauitics and Space
