nobleza europea de Goodwin (en la década de los cincuenta), Scott y Dewald o la
reciente de Anne J. Duggan 18 .
Junto a esta serie de trabajos, más conocidos y convertidos ya en clásicos de los
estudios nobiliarios en la historiografía europea, es preciso reseñar otros que han ido
apareciendo bajo su magisterio, bien sobre aspectos parciales como las cuestiones de
género, la familia, la movilidad social, la economía…, así como un conjunto de
artículos que nos dan la pista de la envergadura de la historiografía anglosajona, gracias
a la cual contamos con un corpus de enormes posibilidades comparativas 19 .
Por su parte, la historiografía francesa ha mostrado también una enorme
sensibilidad hacia el tema nobiliario, al tiempo que la mayor presencia de hispanistas
franceses que han trabajado sobre las cuestiones familiares y las oligarquías hispanas,
hace que la cercanía entre los trabajos galos y los de nuestro país sea bastante acusada,
de ahí las continuas colaboraciones en este sentido a las que he aludido en las páginas
precedentes. Pero si nos centramos en el territorio francés hemos de reseñar la presencia
de un importante número de trabajos, destacando entre ellos los de Labatut sobre los
duques y pares de Francia, los de Jonathan Dewald sobre la aristocracia francesa y los
miembros de una nobleza provincial formada por los miembros del parlamento de
