Estudios previos mostraron que pacientes sometidos a resección de metástasis presentan una supervivencia a 5 años de un 20 a 45% (14). Al comparar la SG entre el grupo de pacientes que había recibido quimioterapia adyuvante con los que no la recibieron, encontramos que la quimioterapia previa aumentó el riesgo de muerte (HR 3,32; 95% IC 0,7 a 15,6). La literatura confirma que pacientes pretratados presentan una tasa de respuesta de 45%, mientras que en aquellos no tratados la misma aumenta a un 57%. Esto podría deberse a que el grupo de pacientes que recibió 5-FU-LV previamente tenía diferente pronóstico (15). En conclusión, nuestro trabajo mostró un porcentaje menor de respuesta en el tratamiento con o x a l i p l a t i n o - 5 F U - LV en los pacientes con cáncer c o l o r rectal metastásico con respecto a la literatura, probablemente debido al tamaño de la muestra y a la dosis de quimioterapia. Sin embargo, obtuvimos una supervivencia aceptable, resaltando la importancia del impacto en la misma de la cirugía de metástasis antes de recibir el tratamiento de quimioterapia.
