Sport and Art Contest
Graphic works and sculptures on the theme
of sport and Olympism from the five continents
is what the IOC Sport and Art Contest is all
about. An exciting contest for artists with
prizes totalling $US 120'000 and the chance
to have their works exhibited at the Olympic
Museum and the Games as well as printed
in a brochure uniting the winning works.
Through its international character the Sport
and Art Contest bears witness to the cultural
diversity of the Olympic Movement, and the
catalysing role that sport, like art, can play in
today's society, as an instrument to improve
people's quality of life and wellbeing. It focuses
on Olympic values and leads people from
different parts of society to better understand
these values while drawing people from beyond
the sport movement closer to Olympism.
