14 Annual ProductInspection(Therapist, Technician, Leckey ProductAdvisor, Dealer)Leckey recommend that each product shouldbe subject to a detailed inspection at leastonce a year and every time the product isreissued for use. This inspection shouldbe carried out by a technically competentperson who has been trained in the use ofthe product and should include the followingchecks as a minimum requirement.1. Check all ratchet handles, knobs, nuts,bolts and plastic buckles are in place,replacing any missing items. Payingparticular attention to the following items;> Headsupport locking bolts.> Backrest height and angleadjustments bolts.> Seat depth adjustment bolts.> Pelvic harness / hip guideattachment bolts.> Footrest height and angleadjustment.5. Lift the base to check each castorindividually. Make sure they are movingfreely and remove any dirt from the rubberwheels. Check that the brakes lock thewheels securely.6. Visually check the structure of theproduct paying attention to weld pointson the frame ensuring there are no signsof fatigue or cracking around the welds.7. Leckey recommend that a writtenrecord is maintained of all annualproduct inspections.If in any doubt to the continued safeuse of your Leckey product or if anyparts should fail, please cease usingthe product and contact our customerservice department or your local dealeras soon as possible.2. Check the chassis height adjustmentmechanism is working properly. If thechassis is foot pedal operated ensure theseat height doesn’t change when the pedalis released. Also, check that the lockingpin engages securely to prevent accidentalheight adjustment of the chassis.3. Adjust the seat to its maximum range oftilt in space and ensure that the locking leverlocks the seat out securely at varying point inthis range.4. Check that where the seat and chassisjoin there is no visible wear and tear on themetal components.
