CHRONIQUEUSE LITTÉRAIRE
Florence Vézina
Tout ce qu’on ne dit pas
Parfois, les mots ne viennent pas. Ils restent
s’obstine simplement. Ceux-là, on s’en veut
de ne pas y avoir pensé sur le coup. On se dit
qu’on aurait peut-être remporté le débat si
l’on y avait pensé avant, mais on les oublie
vite et c’est bien comme ça.
Parfois, on parle simplement trop vite. On
ne garde aucune phrase pour soi, ça nous
met dans des situations délicates. On oublie
clairement de tourner sa langue sept fois. On
regrette aussitôt et on s’excuse mille fois.
Il y a, aussi, tous les mots qu’on n’a pas besoin
de dire. Ceux qui sont évidents, qu’on partage
avec les yeux. Les « je t’aime » doux qui
cassent sur la langue. Les plus vrais de tous,
les mots qui viennent directement du cœur.
D’un regard. D’un sourire. D’un pas grandchose
qui dit tout.
All that is not said
LITTÉRAIRE
Sometimes words do not come. They get stuck
in the back of our throat and they haunt us
when we remember the conversations.
Words that we do not say can be a good reply
to a joke taken wrong way. We find the perfect
sentence, but it is too late. One can only imagine
coming out victorious with an infallible spread,
except that there is no one left to hear us.
Other times, we know the right words, but
no one knows how to pronounce them aloud
without our heart loose. We are already melting
in tears, so we swallow everything to save
ourselves a moment. A day will come and
the words will come out on their own without
warning.
There are the words that we forget to add to our
argument when we fight or are simply stubborn.
Those, we blame ourselves for not having
thought on the spot. We think we could have
won the debate if we had thought before, but
we forget them quickly and it’s fine like that.
Sometimes we just talk too fast. We do not keep
any sentence for ourselves, it puts us in delicate
situations. We forget to cunt to ten before we
speak. We regret immediately and we apologize
a thousand times.
There are, also, all the words that one does not
need to say. Those who are obvious, that we
share with the eyes. The sweet “I love you” that
breaks on the tongue. The most true of all, the
words that come directly from the heart.
A glance. A smile.
Not much that says
everything.
