diagnostizieren, sondern auch Antibiotikaresistenzen
beurteilen.
Die Diagnose von Infektionskrankheiten
ist ein sehr spezielles, aber äusserst
wichtiges Teilgebiet der Pathologie und
kann wesentlich zur richtigen Behandlung
und Betreuung von Patientinnen und Patienten
beitragen. Die gezielte Verwendung
von Spezialtechniken sollte in der Zukunft
ermöglichen, neben dem Erregernachweis
analog zur Tumordiagnostik auch Aussagen
über Prognose und Therapieansprechen
(Prädiktion) zu machen. Innerhalb
der Pathologie muss dafür aber auch die
Weiter- und Fortbildung in diesem Bereich
verstärkt werden und gegenüber den behandelnden
Kolleginnen und Kollegen ein
vermehrter Austausch zum Beispiel in
Form von klinisch-pathologischen Besprechungen
angestrebt werden.
