Halini sejalan dengan tujuan kami yakni menjadi LearningOrganization dengan kinerja tinggi. Upaya mencapai tujuantersebut dilakukan melalui pelatihan yang berkelanjutanbaik eksternal maupun internal, kegiatan pembelajaran daninovasi serta pelatihan langsung dengan pengawasan danbimbingan dari manajemen. Sepanjang tahun 2006, pelatihanyang berkelanjutan dilakukan secara menyeluruh baik di kantorpusat dan kebun, pada tingkat manajerial maupun operasional.Program pelatihan difokuskan pada pengembangan pribadimaupun ketrampilan teknis.Kami juga meningkatkan sarana penunjang pelatihan tersebutdengan membangun satu pusat pelatihan baru sehinggamenambah jumlah pusat pelatihan kami menjadi enam buah,sejalan dengan meningkatnya jumlah pelatihan yangdibutuhkan. Lima buah pusat pelatihan berada di Sumatradan Kalimantan, sementara satu buah pusat pelatihanterletak di lingkungan kantor pusat.Kami juga mengadakan <strong>SMART</strong> Forum yang diselenggarakantiap kwartal dengan menghadirkan para profesional, yangmembagikan pengetahuan dan pengalaman mereka diberbagai bidang seperti keuangan, pemasaran, manajemenstrategik dan lain-lain. Melalui program-program tersebut,diharapkan para karyawan dapat termotivasi untuk senantiasamelakukan perbaikan dan inovasi sesuai dengan kompetensidan bidang kerja mereka.Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi karyawan,kami menyelenggarakan penilaian secara periodik, dimanakaryawan diberikan kesempatan untuk mendiskusikan kinerjadan area yang perlu ditingkatan. Proyek Full Time Equivalentjuga telah diimplementasikan untuk menganalisa beban kerjakaryawan dan mengetahui jumlah karyawan yang seimbanguntuk tiap tugas tertentu. Kami memberikan sistem penghargaanyang kompetitif baik secara keuangan maupun jenjang kariruntuk mendorong karyawan berprestasi.We are strongly committed to develop our current workforcewhich totals 14,251 people under our direct employment.This is in line with our objective to become a high performanceLearning Organization. This is done through continuousexternal and in-house training, learning process and innovationactivities and on the job training with close supervision andcoaching from key members of management. In 2006,continuous training, was conducted thoroughly both inhead office and site, managerial and operational level.Training was focused on personal development and technicalskills.We also improved the supporting facilities for trainingactivities by building a new training centre to add up our totalnumber of training centers to six centers, as a response to theincreasing number of training needs. Out of six training centers,five are located near our operation areas in Sumatra andKalimantan, and one is within the head office area.We also held <strong>SMART</strong> Forums conducted quarterly byprofessionals to share their knowledge and experiences invarious areas of finance, marketing, strategic management,etc. Through these on-going programs, our employees aremotivated to continuously improve and innovate in linewith their competence and responsibility areas.To improve productivity and efficiency of the workforces, weperform periodical individual assessment, where the employeesare given the opportunity to discuss their performances andareas for improvement. A project called Full Time Equivalentwas implemented to analyze employee’s work load so as toensure the good balance of employees for each specifictask. We set competitive reward programs both financialand career based to encourage outstanding performers.
