Supponiamo che vi siano solamente tre merci (che chiameremo “a”, “b” e<br />

proporzione fra lavoro e valore dei mezzi di produzione; qu<strong>in</strong>di i prezzi delle<br />
merci del sistema (1,3) sono proporzionali alle quantità di lavoro<br />
direttamente e <strong>in</strong>direttamente <strong>in</strong>corporate nelle merci.<br />
Supponiamo ora che, per miglioramenti tecnici nella produzione delle merci<br />
“a” e “c”, si abbiano le seguenti relazioni:<br />

dove q a , q b e q c corrispondono alle quantità note, date nel sistema (1,3).<br />
Come nel sistema (1,3), anche nel sistema (1,4), le merci “a”,“b” e “c”<br />
sono servite dalla medesima proporzione fra lavoro e valore dei mezzi di<br />
produzione; pertanto, anche i prezzi del sistema (1,4) sono proporzionali alle<br />
quantità di lavoro <strong>in</strong>corporato direttamente e <strong>in</strong>direttamente nelle merci.<br />
Come abbiamo accennato nel precedente paragrafo, <strong>Ricardo</strong> pensava che<br />
