ABSTRACT
This paper proposes a novel indicator in the Environmental Technology, which is the
evaluation of eco-efficiency of a company from the perspective of its non-compliance of its
management system. This is a new approach that does not rule out the traditional tools of
eco-efficiency assessment of a company, it actually increases the assessments and is based
on control of non-compliance or exception occurred. Tools to consider the values of
traditional measurement of processes adopted from the premise that the process will always
run smoothly and without error, and in practice any process is error-prone or noncompliance,
and for each non-compliance, there is a finance expense for repair or remedy it
with the use of environmental resources, whether raw materials, supplies, packaging, water
or energy. The study was done in an industry mattresses and upholstery furniture, and
applies to any company. The methodology for this research was based on studies of the ABC
curve; survey of non-compliance of the selected process; use of the tool GAIA -
Gerenciamento de Aspectos e Impactos Ambientais; Leopold Matrix, Evaluation of
Environmental Aspects and Impacts, which served as tag for the development of the
proposed - INCA - Indicador de Não Conformidade e Ambiental, which may be implemented
by organizations seeking a management able to systematize sustainable production.
