ABSTRACT
This work approaches the importance of having a computer data system in order to
have an efficient control of the supplies of materials and to be a faithful office ally to
the manager in the process of decision in the materials management. It has been
perceived that information, allied to technological resources, takes care of the
operational and managerial rules of the organizations. The form that the data is
processed is of utmost importance. It allows information to be generated so that the
decision is taken correctly, according to its environment. Also this work has aims to
appraise the system of information as well as the materials management. It shows
how important it is and the benefits for the companies that implant a Management
Information System. Also highlights the importance of correctly controlling of
Materials as a distinguished and basic tool for decision process in operations. For a
better understanding, this term paper presents a case study of a pharmaceutical
company.
