A nova estrada diminuirá a distância entre<br />
as cidades de Porto Seguro (BA), Santa Cruz<br />
Cabrália (BA), Belmonte (BA) e Canavieiras<br />
(BA), com perspectiva de atrair parte do fluxo<br />
turístico da região entre Ilhéus (BA) e Itacaré<br />
(BA), sendo uma alternativa de percurso menor<br />
para os destinos Santa Cruz Cabrália e Porto<br />
Seguro.<br />
Pedro Cardoso, assessor de relações institucionais<br />
da Veracel, explica que a empresa<br />
se encarregou da construção da rodovia, que<br />
será doada para uso público, em uma parceria<br />
da empresa com o governo da Bahia.<br />
“Entregaremos um projeto estruturante, com<br />
valor compartilhado para toda a região, o que<br />
é motivo de grande orgulho para a Veracel”,<br />
destaca Pedro.<br />
SUSTENTÁVEL E SOCIAL<br />
A BA-658 vai reduzir em 56 km a distância<br />
entre a base florestal da Veracel – suas áreas<br />
de plantação de eucalipto, localizadas ao norte<br />
do Rio Jequitinhonha – e a fábrica de celulose<br />
da empresa, no município de Eunápolis. Isso<br />
se traduz na diminuição de até 25 viagens de<br />
carretas de madeira por dia realizadas pela<br />
companhia nas estradas da região, com beand<br />

with the prospect of attracting part of the tourist<br />
flow of the Region between Ilhéus (BA) and Itacaré<br />
(BA), being an alternative for a shorter route to the<br />
destinations Santa Cruz Cabrália and Porto Seguro.<br />

the responsibility for highway construction in a<br />
partnership between the Company and the Government<br />
of Bahia and will be donated for public use.<br />
“We will deliver a complete structured project,<br />
with a shared value for the entire region, which<br />
is a source of great pride for Veracel,” highlights<br />
Cardoso.<br />
