THE SEARCH FOR WORLD-CLASS CERTIFICATIONS
STRENGTHENS WORK IN THE PULP SEGMENT
Enquanto o Parlamento Europeu toma
uma importante medida ao aprovar,
por ampla maioria, lei que fecha a
porta para importação de produtos
originários de áreas desmatadas após
dezembro de 2020, a CMPC, maior
representante da bioeconomia no Rio Grande
do Sul, celebra a renovação ou manutenção do
status de em dois importantes certificados internacionais,
após passar por auditoria da Imaflora,
nos meses de fevereiro e março de 2023.
Os reconhecimentos foram conferidos pelas
renomadas instituições FSC (Forest Stewardship
Council) e PEFC (The Programme for the Endorsement
of Forest Certification), cujas certificações
levam os nomes das siglas das organizações.
Mauricio Harger, diretor-geral da CMPC no
Brasil, conta que desde 2004, a unidade Guaíba
(RS) tem certificação de manejo florestal e cadeia

do Sul, celebrates the renewal or maintenance
of the status of two vital international certificates,
after undergoing an audit by Imaflora, in February
and March in 2023.
The recognition was conferred by renowned
institutions, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest
Certification (Pefc), whose certifications bear the
names of the acronyms of the organizations.
