ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, LABOUR AND TOURISM
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS
The City of Piracicaba, through the Municipal Office of Economic Development, offers several
attractions for new ventures aimed at economic development and job and income generation.
Among the advantages of the municipality are the industrial districts, where companies of
various segments and sizes are established that guarantee logistical support to a broad and
diverse industrial complex.
UNILESTE (east): The first industrial
district established in Piracicaba, at the end
of the 70’s and presently gathers more than
100 companies responsible for about 15,000
direct jobs. It has an excellent location and
easy access to the main highways in the region.
UNINOROESTE (northwest):
Created in 2005, the Uninoroeste is another
important industrial hub of Piracicaba. It is
a private district with its own infrastructure
distributed in 5 million m². As it is located
close to production outlets, it is among the
most popular hubs for the installation of new
companies in the city.
UNINORTE (north): Was launched more
than 20 years ago as a pioneering model of
planning and business development established
through the PPP - Public and Private
Partnership. The Uninorte has almost one million
m² strategically located next to the ring road,
interconnecting Uninorte to the main highways
such as Anhanguera and Bandeirantes highways.
UNISUL (south): The newest Industrial
District in Piracicaba is in the implementation
phase between Sugar Road (SP-308) and
Cornelio Pires Road (SP-127). The Unisul will
have a total area of about 160,000 m², divided
in lots of 1,000 m², on average.
