University District promotes knowledge
and favours research
Piracicaba houses universities with important
highlights in the region, in addition to several hubs of
distance higher education institutions. The city trains
new researchers, enables specializations and programs in
different areas that facilitate the promotion of scientific
and technological exchanges.
One of the main in person units is the Luiz de
Queiroz Agriculture College (ESALQ), São Paulo
University campus (USP), with undergraduate options
of Agronomic Engineering, Forestry Engineering,
Environmental Management, Agricultural, Biological,
Food Sciences, Economic Sciences and Administration.
The municipality also has a UNICAMP (State
University of Campinas) campus, where is Piracicaba
Faculty of Dentistry, and several private institutions.
Teachers and Students are trained by
the Google for Education platform
The continued training of teachers is also a priority.
In addition to STEAM training (focused on science,
technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) in
partnership with the company ArcelorMittal, the city
provides international-level qualifications to education
professionals with the Google for Education platform.
The training has already started and is also offered
to students, who, together with teachers, put the
innovations into practice in the classroom.
