ר'‏ דוד נולד בתקפ"ח,‏ ובשנת תרכ"ו נתקבל לרב בקהילה החשובה
פינסק-קרלין,‏ שם כיהן עד פטירתו בשנת תרע"ה.‏ הוא נחשב
כאחד מגדולי הרבנים והפוסקים החשובים בדורו.‏ המכתב בכתב
ידו ובחתימתו נשלח לגיסו המפורסם ר'‏ מיכל פינס ‏(לפני שעלה
לארץ ישראל).‏ בקטלוג שלפנינו גם ספר שאילת דוד שחבר.‏

מכתב מר'‏ צבי הירש קלישר.‏ טהארן,‏ תרכ"ו עמודים.]‏
ר'‏ צבי הירש נולד בליסא בתקנ"ה והיה תלמידם של גדולי הדור
ר'‏ יעקב מליסא ור'‏ עקיבא איגר.‏ בתקפ"ד עבר לטהארן וכיהן
בו כרב בלי לקבל שכר עד פטירתו בתרל"ה.‏ הקדיש רוב חייו
לענייני ישוב ארץ ישאל וקיום מצוותיו בפועל.‏ המכתב ביידיש
למר שמחה פירדט,‏ על מכתב של מר פירדט להגאון ר'‏ אליהו
גוטמאכר מגריידיץ,‏ שניהם בענין ארגון ‏"חברים כל ישראל."‏
המכתב בכתב ידו ובחתימתו.‏ בקטלוג שלפנינו גם ספר מאזנים
למשפט שחבר.‏

2. Letter of R’ Zvi
Hirsch Kalisher
Letter from R’ Zvi Hirsch Kalisher. Thorn, 1866. [2] pp.
R’ Tzvi Hirsch was born in Lisa in 1795 and was one of the
students of the leading rabbis of his generation: Rabbi Yaakov
of Lisa and Rabbi Akiva Eiger. In 1824, he moved to Thorn
and was appointed there as the Rabbi where he served the
community with no remuneration until his demise in 1875. He
dedicated most of his life to encouraging the settlement of Eretz
Yisrael and the actual fulfillment of the mitzvot of the Land.
This letter is in Yiddish to Mr. Simcha Furth in reference to
a letter that Mr. Furth wrote to Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher of
Greiditz. Both letters concern the organization “Chaverim Kol
Yisrael.” The letter is in his handwriting with his signature. The
book “Mozna’im Lamishpat” that he wrote also appears in this
catalogue.

Letter from Rabbi Dovid of Karlin. 1852, [2] pp.
Rabbi Dovid was born in 1828, in 1866 was accepted as the
Rabbi of the important community of Pinsk-Karlin where he
served until his demise in 1915. He was considered one of the
leading rabbis and halachic authorities of his generation. This
letter, in his handwriting and with his signature, is addressed to
his famous brother-in-law – R’ Michel Pines (before he moved
to Eretz Yisrael). The book “She’elas Dovid” that he wrote also
appears in this catalogue.
