the Ah”u communities, including the wording on their tomb
s tones. With a long biography of R’ Ya’akov Emden (the
Y a’avet”z). Includes a German summary of the book and a
G erman title page. A first class book for research of these
important Jewish communities in the center of Europe.
Very good condition, printed on high-quality paper, original
binding embossed with the names of the book and author.

Jewish history for students, by R’ Ovadia Messariel,
Press. 1889. 18 pp., 18 cm. Constantinople, L. Nomismatedis
On title page: No. 1, but apparently no more was ever printed.
Ovadia Messariel was a Hebrew teacher in the great Talmud
Torah of Galata in Constantinople. With an approbation by
R’ Avraham Danon, principle of the Rabbinical Beth Medrash
in Constantinople. Avraham Danon published Toldot B’nei
Avraham, Jewish History from the time of the destruction of the
temple (Pressburg, 1886) and was a poet.

BeKushta, or on the CD of The Institute for Hebrew
Bibliography.
