Second conditional<br />

1 Read the rules. Then complete the table with<br />

five of the words and phrases in the box. Do<br />

we use the second conditional to talk about<br />

1 We form the second conditional with<br />

if + past simple and would / wouldn’t +<br />

infinitive.<br />

2 We use if + past simple to describe the<br />

situation and would / wouldn’t + infinitive<br />

to describe the result.<br />
