Imagination – the key to world
Young and old alike need free and spirited ideas
to establish themselves creatively. The basis for
this is the development of their imagination.
Games, fairy tales, stories, crafts and sensual
experiences help children develop a creative
mind. When an adult is able to recall an in childhood
acquired potential, it is easier for him to
find a creative lifestyle, to solve problems and
enjoy the ability to think outside the box.
Creativity is an essential key to understanding
the world. The Sociologist H. Popitz describes
three aspects of creativity.
• Exploring: the quest for new knowledge
(subject related)
• Designing: the quest for new possibilities
to act (object related)
• Inspiring: the quest for new meaning (the
ability to transcend)
Imagination is the basis for the development of
creativity and success at work and in your social
life. Hegel already pointed out that we need
a little imagination in order to not be caught
up in the fog of reality. Imagination works as a
constant transmission belt. Only with imagination
sensual impressions can be translated into
language and forms. How else could we – e.g.
– even think of understanding as intercommunicative
competence?
