MANĚTÍN
Na jihovýchod od Karlových Varů, uprostřed krásné
a čisté krajiny v údolí Manětínského potoka,
leží městečko Manětín. V písemných pramenech je
poprvé připomínán k roku 1169, kdy byl darován
králem Vladislavem II. pražským johanitům.
Koncem 16. století byl v centru města postaven
renezanční zámek. Po požáru v roce 1712 si nechala
tehdejší majitelka Marie G. Lažanská vybudovat
nové sídlo, které má protáhlý půdorys ve tvaru
písmene L. Dnes je v něm rozsáhlá expozice s barokním
mobiliářem a unikátní kolekcí třinácti obrazů
zámeckého služebnictva. Jižní průčelí se otevírá do
obnovené barokní zahrady, na niž navazuje zámecký
park. V době baroka město obohatily ještě další
krásné stavby, například poutní kostel sv. Barbory
a gotický kostel sv. Jana Křtitele. Ten je spojen krytou
chodbou se zámkem a jeho věž má typickou barokní
báň se zvonicí. Všechny návštěvníky Manětína překvapuje
množství a kvalita barokních soch a božích
muk, pocházejících z konce 17. a celého 18. století.
Pozdně barokní měšťanské domy na náměstí a podél
hlavní komunikace dotvářejí kolorit bývalého významného
města, které se dnes opět dostává do popředí
zájmu turistů a návštěvníků.
Terasa zámku nabízí 26.6. a 3.7. divadelní představení,
6.6., 20.6., 18.7., a 15.8. koncerty vážné
hudby.

Manetin
Südöstlich von Karlsbad, umgeben von einer schönen
und reinen Landschaft, im Tal des Manetiner Baches,
liegt das Städtchen Manetin. In den schriftlichen
Quellen wird es zum ersten Mal im Jahre 1169 erwähnt,
als es vom König Vladislav II. den Prager
Johannitern geschenkt wurde. Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts
wurde im Stadtzentrum ein Renaissanceschloss erbaut.
Nach dem Brand im Jahre 1712 ließ der damalige
Eigen tümer Václav J. Lažanský und später seine Ehefrau
und sein Sohn einen neuen Sitz errichten, der einen
lang geschreckten Grundriss in Form des Buchstabens
L hat. Heute gibt es hier eine umfangreiche Ausstellung
mit dem Barockmobiliar und mit einer einmaligen
Kollektion von 13 Bildern der Schlossdienstboten. Der
südliche Flügel öffnet sich in einen wieder hergerichteten
Barockgarten, an den der Schlosspark anschließt. In der
Barockzeit bereicherten die Stadt noch weitere schöne
Gebäude, zum Beispiel die Wallfahrtskirche der Hl.
Barbara und die gotische Kirche des Hl. Johannes des
Täufers. Diese ist mit einem überdachten Gang mit dem
Schloss verbunden und ihr Turm hat eine typische
Barockkuppel mit einem Glockenturm. Alle Besucher von
Manetin staunen über die Menge und die Qualität der
Barockstatuen und der Martersäulen, die aus dem Ende
des 17. und dem ganzen 18. Jahrhundert stammen. Die
Spätbarocken Bürgerhäuser am Marktplatz und entlang
der Hauptstraße vervollständigen die Atmosphäre der einst
bedeutenden Stadt, die heute wieder in den Vordergrund des
Interessens der Touristen und der Besucher kommt.
Die Schlossterrasse bietet am 26.6., 3.7. Theatervorstellungen
und am 6.6., 20.6., 18.7., 15.8.

Manětín
The little town of Manětín lies southeast of
Karlovy Vary, in the middle of beautiful and pure
scenery in the valley of the brook Manětínský. It
was first recorded in 1169 when King Vladislav II
gave it to the Prague Knights of St. John of
Jerusalem as a present. A Renaissance chateau was
built in the town centre in the late 16th century. Its
owner at that time, Václav J. Lažanský, and later
his wife and son, had a new seat built after the fire
in 1712. It has a long, L-shaped ground plan.
There is an extensive exhibition of Baroque furniture
and a unique collection of 13 paintings of
domestic servants in it today. The southern front
faces a renovated Baroque garden which passes
into a park. Further beautiful buildings appeared in
the town at the time of Baroque, such as the St.
Barbora Church or the gothic John the Baptist
Church. A roofed passage connects the latter one
with the chateau and its spire has a typical
Baroque cupola with a belfry. All visitors to
Manětín are surprised by the quantity and quality
of Baroque statues and wayside shrines which
date from the late 17th and the whole 18th century.
Late Baroque houses in the square put finishing
touches to the atmosphere of the formerly important
town which is becoming more and more popular
with tourists and visitors today.
Theatre performances (26th June, 3rd July) and
concerts of classical music (6th and 20th June,
18th July and 15th August) will be held at the
terrace of the chateau.
