Pátrání po slavném rodu Puppů
Po tři staletí nese Grandhotel Pupp jméno slavného
rodu svých zakladatelů. Jméno Pupp se stalo
synonymem tradice a pohostinnosti nejen v Karlo
vých Varech a České republice, ale i v celém
světě. Grandhotel Pupp si stále uvědomuje odpovědnost
za péči o tuto značku a za odkaz, který
s sebou nese z minulosti do současnosti a budoucnosti.
Vedení hotelu se rozhodlo k rozsáhlé
pátrací akci s cílem najít co nejvíce jmenovců rodu
Puppů. Podle všech dostupných pramenů se snaží
oslovit příbuzné, kteří jsou dnes rozeseti po celém
světě. Na konci tohoto pátrání by se mělo uskutečnit
jedinečné setkání v místě, kde žili zakladatelé
rodu - v Grandhotelu Pupp. „Puppové v Puppu“
je název nové tradice, která i v dalších staletích
udrží značce Pupp zasloužený věhlas.

Fahndung nach der berühmten Familie Pupp
Drei Jahrhunderte lang trägt das Grandhotel Pupp
den Namen der berühmten Familie seiner Gründer.
Der Name Pupp wurde zum Synonym der
Tradition und der Gastfreundlichkeit nicht nur in
Karlsbad und in der Tschechischen Republik,
sondern auch in der ganzen Welt. Im Grandhotel
Pupp ist man sich stets bewusst, dass man
Verantwortung für die Pflege dieser Marke und
für den Nachlass hat. Diesen trägt man mit sich
aus der Vergangenheit in die Gegenwart und in
die Zukunft. Die Hotelleitung entschloss sich zu
einer umfangreichen Fahndungsaktion mit dem
Ziel möglichst viele Träger des Namens Pupp zu
finden. Auf Grund aller zugänglichen Quellen
bemüht man sich die Verwandten anzu sprechen,
die heute in der ganzen Welt verstreut sind. Am
Ende dieser Forschung sollte ein einmaliges treffen
am Ort stattfinden, wo die Gründer der
Familie lebten - im Grandhotel Pupp. „Pupps im
Pupp“ ist der Name der neuen Tradition, die auch
in den weiteren Jahrhunderten der Marke Pupp
den verdienten Ruf beibehält.

Searching for the Famous Pupp Family
The Grandhotel Pupp has been bearing the name
of the famous family of its founders for three
centuries. The name Pupp has become the synonym
of tradition and hospitality not only in
Karlovy Vary and the Czech Republic but also in
the whole world. The Grandhotel Pupp is aware
of its responsibility for the care of this trademark
and the legacy it has been taking with it from the
past to the present and future. The management
of the hotel decided to start an extensive search
operation whose aim is to find as many name
holders of the Pupp family as possible. Using all
available sources it is trying to address relatives
who are dispersed in the whole world today.
A unique meeting in the place where the founders
of the family lived – the Grandhotel Pupp –
should be at the end of this searching. “The
Pupps in the Pupp” is the name of the new tradition
which will maintain the trademark Pupp in
the centre of attention in the following centuries.

...v roce 1950 po komunistickém aktu přejmenování
hotelu na Grandhotel Moskva zde bylo umístěno
rekreační středisko vojenské generality? V prosinci
1951 propukl díky nedbalosti či opilosti vojáků
požár a nenávratně zničil řadu cenných interiérů.

kam und Popp hieß? Bis heute ist unbekannt,
warum es zur kleinen Namenskorrektur kam, die
den Namen dem Grandhotel Pupp gab.
...die Gäste von Johann Georg Pupp Ende des
18. und am Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts fast alle
Größen seiner Zeit waren? Nennen wir die Kaiserin
Maria Theresia, Friedrich den Großen, die Zarin
Katharina, General Laudon, den Dichter Schiller,
den Weltbummler Casanova, der sich mehrmals
zum Kaffee mit Johann Wolfgang Goethe traf.
...im Jahre 1950 nach dem kommunistischen Akt,
als das Hotel auf Grandhotel Moskva umbenannt
wurde, es hier ein Erholungszentrum für die
Generalität gab? Im Dezember 1951 brach dank
Nachlässigkeit oder dank Betrunkenheit der
Soldaten ein Feuer aus, das eine Reihe von wertvollen
Innenräumen für immer zerstörte.

confectioner and his name was Popp? We do not
know the reasons why he altered it creating so
a name which later became a part of the
Grandhotel Pupp´s name.
... almost all celebrities of that time were guests of
Johann Georg Pupp in the late 18th century and
the early 19th century? Let us name Empress Mary
Theresa, Friedrich the Great, Tsarina Catherine,
General Laudon, the poet Schiller, the globetrotter
Casanova, and he also met Johann Wolfgang
Goethe over a cup of coffee many times.
... after the communists had re-named the hotel
the Grandhotel Moskva, a recreation centre of
generals was established here in 1950? A fire
which broke out here because of soldiers´ negligence
or drunkenness in 1951 destroyed a number
of valuable interiors irretrievably.
