Die Keynote Lectures bilden eines der Highlights auf dem diesjährigen
DOG-Kongress. In halbstündigen Vorträgen werden Themen
besonderer Bedeutung von herausragenden Experten in umfassender
Weise dargestellt. Ein besonderer Höhepunkt ist die von-
Graefe-Vorlesung, gehalten von dem von-Graefe-Preisträger des
Jahres 2010, Prof. Dr. Christian Ohrloff.
As in past years, our Keynote Lectures will elucidate specific focal
points in the program. In each of these half-hour lectures, an
outstanding expert will comprehensively present an important
theme. A very special highlight will be the von-Graefe-Lecture,
presented by the von-Graefe prize winner 2010, Christian Ohrloff.

The Congress in your iPhone
Für den DOG-Kongress wird es erstmals eine Applikation
für iPhone geben. Dieses kostenlose App „DOG2011“ enthält
nicht nur das Hauptprogramm mit allen Details, sondern
bietet auch eine Vielzahl weiterer nützlicher Funktionen.
Durch das Anklicken von Veranstaltungen, Vorträgen, Präsentationen
können Anwender individuelle Kongresspläne
zusammenstellen. Das App enthält Übersichtspläne über
das Kongresszentrum und die Industrieausstellung, ein
Ausstellerverzeichnis, Informationen zum Rahmenprogramm
und weitere wichtige Informationen zum Kongress.
(Der Download erfolgt über iTunes App Store). Eine Version
für Geräte mit dem OS Android ist für die kommenden
Kongresse geplant.
As one of the novelties of the DOG Congress 2011 we offer an
application for iPhone. In addition to the program of the
congress with all details, the free app “DOG 2011” offers a
variety of useful functions. By clicking on events, lectures,
presentations, the users can create their own individual
congress plans. The app furthermore contains general plans
of the congress center and the industrial exhibition, a
complete list of exhibitors, information on the social program
and further information on the congress. (Download via
iTunes App Store). A version for OS Android devices is being
developed for the next congress.

Lois Smith ist Kinderaugenärztin und Molekularbiologin
an der Harvard Medical School
and Children’s Hospital in Boston. Sie ist Mitglied
des National Eye Institute’s National
Advisory Eye Council und war von 1995-2010 geschäftsführende
Direktorin des Eye Research Collaborative der V. Kann Rasmussen
Foundation. Frau Smith war bis 2008 Herausgeberin von Investigative
Ophthalmology and Visual Science. Sie wurde mit zahlreichen
Preisen ausgezeichnet, unter anderem dem Research to
Prevent Blindness Lew Wasserman Merit Award, dem Bressler
Prize for Vision Science, dem Alcon Research Institute Award und
dem Don Gass Memorial Lecture Award der MacTel Foundation.
