In the year 2010 important study results for the therapy of vascular
macular edema in patients with diabetes and retinal vessel occlusion
have been published, evaluating new and conventional therapeutic
strategies (laser, intravitreal pharmaceutical products as
steroids, anti-VEGF substances). These new results as well as the
current approval of new methods have led to significant changes
for the recommendations regarding diagnostics and therapy.
