DOG-Kongress 2011 - Highlights
Lois Smith is a pediatric ophthalmologist and molecular biologist
at the Harvard Medical School and Children´s Hospital in Boston.
She is member of the National Eye Institute´s National Advisory
Eye Council and was managing director of the Eye research Collaborative
of the V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation from 1995 until
2010. Lois Smith was editor of Investigative Ophthalmology and
Visual Science. She has been decorated with several awards,
amongst others with the Research to Prevent Blindness Lew Wassermann
Merit Award, the Bressler Prize for Vision Science, the
Alcon Research Institute Award and the Don Gass Memorial
Lecture Award of the MacTel Foundation.

Harminder Singh Dua, MNAMS (Member of
National Academy of Medical Science – New
Delhi), FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of
Surgeons), FRCOpht (Fellow of the Royal College
of Ophthalmologists), FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of
Ophthalmology) ist Direktor und Professor der Augenheilkunde an
der Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences in Nottingham. Herr
Dua ist Autor zahlreicher Publikationen mit Schwerpunkt Immunologie
und Störungen der Augenoberfläche. Er ist Chefredakteur
des British Journal of Ophthalmology und Präsident der EuCornea
sowie Präsident von EVER (European Association for Vision and
Eye Research). Erst kürzlich wurde er in die Academia Ophthalmologica
Internationalis und als Präsident des Royal College of Ophthalmologists
gewählt.

FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology), is
director and professor of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine
& Health Sciences in Nottingham. Mr. Dua is author of numerous
publications with the key focus on immunology as well as
cornea and external eye diseases. He is Editor-in-Chief of the British
Journal of Ophthalmology and President of the EuCornea as
well as President of EVER (European Association for Vision and Eye
Research). Quite recently, he has been elected into the Academia
Ophthalmologica Internationalis and has become President of the
Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Christian Ohrloff ist seit 1988 Direktor der
Universitätsaugenklinik Frankfurt/Main und
hatte dort auch in Fakultät und Klinikumsvorstand
Leitungsfunktionen inne. Er ist langjähriger Herausgeber
der Zeitschrift Ophthalmologica und wurde für seine Verdienste in
der Augenheilkunde mit der Ehrenmitgliedschaft der Deutschen
Gesellschaft für Intraokularlinsen-Implantation und refraktive
Chirurgie und der Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft der Ukraine
geehrt. Von 1999 bis 2000 war Herr Ohrloff Präsident der
Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft und seit 2001 ist er
Pressesprecher der DOG.
