extrem unausgewogen. Während Italien
6.200 Mio. EUR nach Brüssel gemeldet hat, ist
Slowenien für seinen Schienenanteil nur bereit,
475 Mio. EUR auszugeben, Ungarn für seinen
Anteil bis Budapest 660 Mio. EUR. Prioritätsein-
stufungen von Transeuropäischen Netzen sagen
bei den Beitrittsländern nur wenig über die
tatsächliche Qualität der Schiene aus, weil dort
leider das Hochleistungs-Straßenbudget den
Hauptteil für sich beansprucht. Demnach gibt
2006 Slowenien für die Eisenbahn-Infrastruktur
16,9 Mio. EUR aus, für 2007 sind 15,1 Mio. EUR
vorgesehen. Der Autobahnbau bekommt näch-
stes Jahr hingegen 54,6 Mio. EUR (Qu.: Euro-
Fig. 16: Slovenia’s PP6, which has been designated as
the better Adriatic transport axis particularly from the
perspective of Austria’s „green activists“ movement and
also by some press commentators, will not for some
decades to come be able to even approach the route
quality which the „Diagonal Passage“ will be able to
achieve from 2017 onwards. This Va corridor, or PP6, is
extremely unbalanced, particularly as regards the
willingness of the bordering countries to make infra-
structure investment. While Italy has indicated a figure
of 6,200 million euros to Brussels, Slovenia is only willing
to provide 475 million euros for its share of the track,
and Hungary 660 million euros for its share as far as
Budapest. In the case of countries in the process of
joining the EU, priority classifications of trans-European
networks mean very little as regards the actual quality
of the track, because in those countries the express road
budget unfortunately claims the major portion. Accordingly,
Slovenia is paying out 16.9 million euros for railway
infrastructure in 2006, with a sum of 15.1 million euros
envisaged for 2007. By contrast, motorway construction
is to get 54.6 million euros next year (Source: European
Commission – Directorate-General for Energy and
Transport 2005, „bfai“ database 2006/Federal Agency
for Foreign Trade).
