Umfangreicher Service für Veranstalter
„Insgesamt geht der Trend klar zu Groß-Veranstaltungen“,
berichtet Gernot Marx, Leiter des SCB. „Mehrere hundert
Bernd Gudat, Senior Director Customer
Briefing Center bei der Software
AG, plant im Mai 2017 in Salzburg
eine einwöchige Konferenz seiner
User Groups mit 400 Teilnehmern aus
allen Kontinenten.
„normalen“ Touristen. Nicht zu unterschätzen ist die Steigerung
des Bekanntheitsgrades von Salzburg. Der geht bei
zufriedenen Kongress-Gästen weit über „Mozartkugeln“ und
„Sound of Music“ hinaus.
Extensive services for organisers
‘Overall, the trend is clearly moving towards large-scale events,’
reports Gernot Marx, head of the SCB. ‘It’s not unusual to see
more than a hundred participants at top conventions.’ As the
first port of call for events in the state, staff at the SCB know
the needs and expectations of event organisers – and know
Salzburg like the backs of their hands. These local convention
industry specialists hold the key to interesting areas, hidden
treasures and important information around event organisation.
The SCB scores highly on personal and objective consulting,
along with first-class cooperation partners in business, science,
education and research, and they can also give vital support on
questions around convention funding.
And they’ve impressed Software AG –
a company based in Darmstadt, Germany,
which operates in 70 countries
as the market leader in several fields of
digital innovation.
Bernd Gudat, Senior Director Customer
Briefing Center at Software AG, is planning
a week-long convention in Salzburg
in May 2017 for his user groups,
numbering 400 participants from several
continents. ‘Selecting Salzburg as
the venue was unanimously accepted
by all the heads of the local and international
user groups,’ Gudat recalls.
This was due to Salzburg’s excellent
reputation as a city for conventions and
fairs, to the attractive and compact historic
centre of Mozart’s own city, and
to the excellent travel connections –
especially for international guests. ‘In
addition, we’ve benefited immensely
from SCB’s support during the planning
process,’ says Gudat, praising the
good on-the-spot cooperation. The SCB has supported Software
AG through everything from selecting a suitable convention
hotel and venues for two evening events, to connecting the
company to renowned artist agencies and advising on contract
matters.
With more than 3,000 events regularly taking place in Salzburg
State with the SCB‘s support, it also boosts the local economy.
After all, the daily spending capacities of convention participants
are much higher than those of ‘normal’ tourists. The increase in
Salzburg’s popularity isn’t to be taken lightly either. For satisfied
convention guests, the city is about so much more than Mozartkugel
chocolates and The Sound of Music.
