KONFERENZANKÜNDIGUNGEN FORTHCOMING CONFERENCES
Nicht nur die globalen und die transnationalen Dimensionen
sind für die Konstitution von Diaspora-
Gemeinschaften bedeutsam, sondern auch die gesellschaftlichen
und ökonomischen Milieus, die sozialen
Netzwerke, die staatlichen Politiken und die nationalen
und regionalen Medien, die konkrete Orte und
konkrete Kontexte ausmachen. Die Tagung zielt darauf
ab, die Heterogenität und die Vielschichtigkeit
der Identitätskonstruktionen von MuslimInnen sowie
ihrer Diaspora-Zusammenhänge sichtbar zu machen.
Auf diese Weise soll ermöglicht werden, hegemoniale
Umgangsformen mit muslimischer Diaspora in
Deutschland sowie anderen europäischen Staaten infrage
zu stellen und neue Forschungsperspektiven
aufzuzeigen.

forum that meets annually for the presentation
of the latest academic research in the humanities on
the Arabian Peninsula from the earliest times to the
present day or, in the case of political and social history,
to the end of the Ottoman Empire (1922).

The Conference is jointly organized by the Cultural
Studies Association of Turkey and Kadir Has University.
The purpose of the conference is to question existing
paradigms in topics that bring together the concepts
of 'culture' and 'space,' to present critical and
analytical studies in these themes, and to explore new
theoretical and methodological approaches in cultural
studies with inter- and multi-disciplinary perspectives.
