GHz. At 3.5 GHz, the amplifier typically
provides 22.8 dB gain, +32 dBm OIP3 at
a 50 mA bias setting, and 0.54 dB noise
figure. The LNA can be biased from a single
positive supply ranging from 3.3 to 5 V.
Bias adjustable for linearity optimization,
the QPL9057 supports Macro BTS, TDD/
Pivotal Commware
Selects Macom as Key RF
Component Supplier
Fairview Microwave, Inc. has expanded its
line of skew matched cable pairs to include
40 GHz and 67 GHz versions that are ideal
for the development of high-data-rate digital
systems. The extended line of skew matched
cables consists of seven models, three original
and four new, available in 40 and 67
GHz versions. These delay matched cables
are offered with 2.92 or 1.85 mm connectors
and polarity indicators for matched
cable ends. Performance specs include an
impressive SWR of 1.4 and delay match as
low as 1 ps. These extremely flexible cable
pair models are 100% tested for skew match
and available for same-day shipping.
Ultra Low-Noise Amplifier
offers Flat Gain
RFMW, Ltd. announces design and sales
support for an ultra low-noise amplifier with
flat gain. With an operational bandwidth
of 600 to 4200 MHz, the Qorvo QPL9057
provides a gain flatness of 2.4 dB (peak-topeak)
over a wide bandwidth of 1.5 to 3.8
Pivotal Commware, Inc., inventor of Holographic
Beam Forming technology, and
Macom, a leading supplier of high performance
compound semiconductor products,
announced the integration of Macom’s
mmWave products manufactured with
Macom’s unique GaAs and AlGaAs process
technology, inside Pivotal’s Echo 5G
product line designed for delivering superior
broadband experiences to more subscribers
at less cost.
The window-mounted, self-installable Echo
5G Subscriber product, for example, will
overcome the biggest obstacle to fixed 5G
wireless access at millimeter waves – inbuilding
penetration of Gigabit speed broadband
to homes and businesses. Holographic
Beam Forming allows Echo 5G to penetrate
Low-E glass coatings and multiple panes of
glass using very little power, which drives
its low weight and size profile on the window.
Macom’s mmWave technology leverages
and extends these capabilities.
5G at mmWave frequencies has catalyzed
an explosion in demand for coverage and
throughput of broadband wireless access
with speeds in excess of 1 Gigabit/second. In
order to meet the demand for time to market,
cost and performance, it is imperative that
RF device providers work intimately with
system architects to arrive at the optimum
solution for the end applications.
SMD Oven-Controlled
Crystal Oscillators
Euroquartz has launched a new range
of surface mount miniature oven-controlled
crystal oscillators (OCXO) offering
the best frequency stability from a
quartz IT cut crystal. The OC51T series
offers frequencies from 10 to 40 MHz
in a 9.7 x 7.5 x 4.1 mm miniature SMD
4-pad package with 3.3 and 5 V supply
voltage options. With voltage control
as standard, OC51T OCXOs deliver
frequency stability of ±20ppb (parts
per billion) maximum making them
ideal for use in applications requiring
exceptionally accurate timing signals
including radio transmitters, cellular
base stations, military communications
equipment and for precision frequency
measurement.
Frequency stability versus temperature
is ±10ppb over -30 to +70 °C and
±20ppb over -40 to +85 °C. Against
voltage change, stability is ±10ppb for
a ±5% input voltage change. Warm up
time of 5 minutes maximum results in
frequency output within ±0.1ppm of
reference frequency while frequency
stability against ageing is ±3ppb maximum
after 30 days, ±600ppb maximum
first year and ±3ppm maximum over
ten years. Voltage control specifications
allow greater than ±5% reference
to nominal frequency at 25 °C and over
operating temperature range. Control
voltage range is +1.65 V, ±1.65 V.
