nungen. Als Intendant genieße ich diese in vollen Zügen und
versuche tatsächlich, so wenige wie möglich zu vergessen, da
es schlicht ein Geschenk ist, mit wie vielen außergewöhnlichen
Menschen man aufeinandertrifft. Ich erlebe das eigentlich
jeden Tag als Geschenk.
Welche Musik hören Sie gern privat?
Bach und Punk.
Wann und wie begann Ihr Interesse für klassische Musik?
Blockflötenunterricht in der zweiten Klasse.
Wie regelmäßig musizieren Sie selbst?
Inzwischen wieder häufiger in meiner neuen Rolle als
Kammermusikpartner meiner Kinder.
Welche Oper hat einen besonderen Platz in Ihrem Herzen?
»La Traviata« von Giuseppe Verdi.
Was ist für Sie Luxus?
Im Stuttgarter Opernhaus in der Intendantenloge sitzend
einer gelungenen Aufführung beiwohnen zu dürfen genauso
wie ein Spaziergang durch den Bopserwald.

Interview with Viktor Schoner
»feine adressen – finest« had the opportunity to talk to the director
of the Stuttgart State Opera, Viktor Schoner.
How have you experienced the past months?
To be honest, as very stressful for our profession. The deceleration,
which is certainly beneficial, is accompanied by a fear of existence on
the part of many artists. What is new about the situation is that even
very successful and actually self-confident freelance singers and conductors
have been torn away from their euphoric experience of this dream
profession. As artistic director you have to spread a lot of confidence.
How do you motivate yourself? What gives you strength?
It is my family’s joy of life that gives me strength. And of course the
euphoria of an audience when an evening at the opera is a success.
What plans do you have for the future of the house?
To continue to be a place for euphoria, doubts, weaknesses,
strengths and utopias for artists and audience, for everyone in
Stuttgart and Württemberg.
How regularly do you make music yourself?
More often again now in my new role as a chamber music partner
for my children.
What is luxury for you?
Sitting in the director’s box at the Stuttgart Opera House and
watching a successful performance is just as much a luxury as a
walk through the Bopserwald.
