partnership in the development<br />

of modular, multifunctional<br />

automotive gateways for telematics<br />

applications. NetModule’s<br />

NG800 automotive gateway<br />

platform, available for various<br />

products, features the ublox<br />

TOBY-L2 cellular module, the<br />

u-blox NEO-M8L GNSS receiver,<br />

and in some products the<br />

ublox JODY-W1 WiFi module.<br />

As advanced telematics grows<br />

its footprint in commercial automotive<br />

applications, demands<br />

on the reliability and robustness<br />

of the cloud connectivity are on<br />

the rise. NetModule designed its<br />

NG800 automotive IoT gateway<br />

to offer robust communication<br />

Mid- and Highband Frontend<br />

Module supports 3G/4G/5G<br />

A new FEM (frontend module) from Skyworks<br />

meets 5G NR and LTE advanced requirements<br />

where wider bandwidth (100 MHz) and carrier<br />

aggregation are used for higher data rates.<br />

This highly integrated solution includes power<br />

amplifier blocks operating in the mid and high<br />

bands, a silicon controller containing the MIPI<br />

RFFE interface, RF band switches, mid- and<br />

high-band antenna switches, bi-directional couplers<br />

and integrated filters to support Bands 1,<br />

2, 3, 7, 34, 39, 40 and 41. Packaged in a 62-pad<br />

LGA assembly, it offers a highly manufacturable<br />

and low-cost solution. The SKY58085-<br />

11 builds upon Skyworks’ Sky5 portfolio of<br />

between a vehicle’s onboard<br />

electronics and connected cloud<br />

based applications enabling a<br />

broad spectrum of automotive<br />

use cases, including e-mobility<br />

monitoring, fleet management,<br />

and remote vehicle diagnostics.<br />

To meet customer-specific requirements<br />

with bespoke solutions,<br />

NetModule has adopted<br />

an innovative modular platform<br />

approach comprising software,<br />

electronic, and mechanical<br />

modules. This platform allows<br />

to manufacture a broad range of<br />

product variants at a moderate<br />

investment, even in small quantities.<br />

In addition, the NG800<br />

gateway received in 2019 the<br />

highly appreciated Red Dot<br />

Design Award in the category<br />

Product Design.<br />

Municipalities will be among<br />

those to benefit, for instance,<br />

by equipping garbage collection,<br />

street cleaning, and winter<br />

maintenance vehicles with<br />

the NG800 telematics gateway.<br />

Authorities will be able to monitor<br />

their vehicles’ activities, itineraries,<br />

and status, gathering<br />

valuable real-time data that they<br />

can leverage to optimize their<br />

operations.<br />

The NG800, which combines<br />

LTE Cat 4 cellular communication,<br />

Bluetooth low energy short<br />

range radio, and GNSS positioning<br />

with dead reckoning, also<br />

features a Molex CMC 48 pin<br />

connector to accept wired inputs<br />

such as CAN, RS-232, automotive<br />

Ethernet 100BASE-T1, and<br />

Fast Ethernet 100BASE-TX.<br />

Housed in a robust IP69-classified<br />

case, the NG800 is designed<br />

to withstand harsh handling,<br />

making it tough enough<br />

to be mounted on the vehicles’<br />

exteriors.<br />

Lowcost CRO VCO<br />

Delivers Exceptional<br />

Phase Noise at 6.55<br />

GHz<br />

The new CRO6550X2-LF utilizes<br />

a doubled CRO oscillator<br />

design to cover 6.55 GHz<br />

within a tuning window of 0.3<br />

to 4.7 V. This ceramic resonator<br />

VCO features exceptionally<br />

low phase noise of -102 dBc/<br />

Hz @ 10 kHz and better than<br />

-125 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset.<br />

Besides the spectral purity,<br />

making the CRO6550X2-LF<br />

even more remarkable is that it<br />

is available in Z-Comm’s standard<br />

Mini-16-SM package measuring<br />

0.5 x 0.5 x 0.22 in. The<br />

CRO6550X2-LF is well suited<br />

for satellite communication<br />

systems requiring unmatched<br />

performance levels.<br />

This low cost VCO is configured<br />

to deliver output power of 0 ±4<br />

dBm into a 50 ohm load and<br />

covers the operating frequency<br />

with a low Kvco figure of 10<br />

MHz/V all while guaranteed to<br />

operate over the industrial temperature<br />

range of -40 to +85<br />

°C. It is specified to run off a 8<br />

V supply while drawing only 25<br />

mA of current. The CRO6550X2-<br />

LF suppresses both the ½ and<br />

2nd harmonic to better than 22<br />

dBc while limiting pulling to<br />

less than 2 MHz. It is available<br />

in tape and reel packaging for<br />

production requirements.<br />
