Famous Liverpool<br />
With its unique attractions, exciting events, unrivalled musical heritage<br />
and famously warm welcomes, Liverpool is the ideal destination to visit and<br />
explore. With the largest collection of museums and galleries anywhere<br />
outside of the Capital, Liverpool’s culture and heritage are at the very<br />
heart of the city. You’ll always find a fantastic selection of things to do, places<br />
to explore.<br />
Day 1 We depart Essex and head to Liverpool<br />
on route we will have a mystery stop before we<br />
continue our journey and reach our hotel with<br />
time to settle before dinner.<br />
Day 2 This morning, we travel to Rawtenstall<br />
and embark on a nostalgic steam journey<br />
on the East Lancashire Railway to the famous<br />
market town of Bury. From Bury, we travel<br />
to Wilmslow to enjoy lunch at leisure<br />
before making our way to the architecturally<br />
impressive Imperial War Museum North<br />
in Manchester and spend the afternoon<br />
discovering The Air Shard and Viewing<br />
Platform and a fabulous permanent exhibition<br />
of warplanes and historic vehicles involved<br />
in conflict around the world over the last<br />
100 years. Alternatively you can enjoy free time<br />
in Manchester.<br />
Day 3 We enjoy time at leisure in Liverpool, a<br />
vibrant city with a rejuvenated Albert Dock<br />
and bustling city centre. Alternatively, join<br />
us for an optional guided city tour of<br />
Liverpool (not included in the tour price),<br />
learning all there is to know about its history<br />
as an industrial force and, of course, it’s most<br />
famous sons. From the Liver Building to the<br />
Albert Dock, discover some of the city’s<br />
impressive landmarks as well as explore some<br />
of the locations frequented by John, Paul,<br />
Ringo and George such as the Cavern Club,<br />
where the late Cilla Black also performed<br />
during her time there as a cloakroom<br />
attendant.<br />
Day 4 After breakfast we depart our hotel<br />
and head home. On our journey back we have<br />
a lunch and sightseeing stop at Coventry<br />
before we continue our journey back to Essex.<br />
