RULE 27 EVIDENCE - PRESERVATION AND EXAMINA­
TION OF. The commanding office r of the Crime
Detection Laboratory shall be respon s ibl e for
the proper care and preserv ation of all evidence
submitted to the laboratory. He shall
not accept requests for the examination of _
eVidence from anyone not a member or employee _
of the department unless the r equest ha s been
approved by the Chief of Detectives.
. RULE 28 SUBJECTS - EXAMINATION OF. The co mmanding
officer of the Crime Detection Laboratory
shall not accept persons for detection of
deception examinations when such persons are
not in pol ice custody or if in police cu s tody
are of juvenile age, unless the request for
such examination has been approved by the
Chief of Detectives.
COMMANDING OFFICER
RULE 29 COMMANDING OFFICER'S RESPONSIBILI­
TIES. A member of the department serving as a
commanding officer shall be responsible for
the enforcement wi thin his command of al I laws
and ordinances, department rules a.nd regulations,
all procedu res and orders of the department
or by which the department is bound.
He shall be responsible for the discipline,
punctual i ty, good order and efficiency of all
members and employees of his command.
RULE 30 COOPERATION. A commanding officer
shall be responsible for the proper and efficient
coopera.tion of his command with other
units of the department, other police departments,
and other City agencies.
