InjUry. He shall submit, through channel s, a<br />

written report of h is findings and conclusions<br />

of such examination to the Com missioner of<br />

Police .<br />

RULE 185 BILLS - SUBMISSION OF. All bills<br />

for medical expenses arising out of injuries<br />

sustained by a member or employee of the department<br />

must be presented to the Medical Section<br />

before or at the time the injured member<br />

or employee is returned to duty. The Chipf<br />

Surgeon shall forward all such bills to the<br />

injured member's or employee's <strong>com</strong>manding officer<br />

for proper investi gation and execution.<br />

RULE 186 HO SP I TAL CHARGES - APPROVAL 0 F. In<br />

case of injury incurred in the performance of<br />

duty. no nospi tal or other bills for professional<br />

services shall be contracted without<br />

the approval of the Chief Surgeon.<br />

RULE 187 CONSULTATION - APPROVAL OF. When<br />

consul tations are necessary to remedy injuries<br />

incurred in the performance of duty. the bill s<br />

and fees for such consultations will only be<br />

paid in cases where the Chief Surgeon has concurred<br />

in the re<strong>com</strong>mendation for such consultations.<br />

RULE 188 SECONDARY OPERATIONS - APPROVAL OF.<br />

When secondary operations are performed to<br />

remedy injuries incurred in the performance of<br />

duty, the bills and fees for such secondary<br />

operations will be paid only in cases where<br />

the Chief Surgeon has concurred in the need<br />

for such secondary operation.<br />

RULE 189 CLAIMS - RECORDS AVAILABLE. Before<br />

any sick or injured member or employee may obtain<br />

benefits from the department, said member<br />

or employee must submit to the Chief Surgeon<br />
