InjUry. He shall submit, through channel s, a
written report of h is findings and conclusions
of such examination to the Com missioner of
Police .
RULE 185 BILLS - SUBMISSION OF. All bills
for medical expenses arising out of injuries
sustained by a member or employee of the department
must be presented to the Medical Section
before or at the time the injured member
or employee is returned to duty. The Chipf
Surgeon shall forward all such bills to the
injured member's or employee's commanding officer
for proper investi gation and execution.
RULE 186 HO SP I TAL CHARGES - APPROVAL 0 F. In
case of injury incurred in the performance of
duty. no nospi tal or other bills for professional
services shall be contracted without
the approval of the Chief Surgeon.
RULE 187 CONSULTATION - APPROVAL OF. When
consul tations are necessary to remedy injuries
incurred in the performance of duty. the bill s
and fees for such consultations will only be
paid in cases where the Chief Surgeon has concurred
in the recommendation for such consultations.
RULE 188 SECONDARY OPERATIONS - APPROVAL OF.
When secondary operations are performed to
remedy injuries incurred in the performance of
duty, the bills and fees for such secondary
operations will be paid only in cases where
the Chief Surgeon has concurred in the need
for such secondary operation.
RULE 189 CLAIMS - RECORDS AVAILABLE. Before
any sick or injured member or employee may obtain
benefits from the department, said member
or employee must submit to the Chief Surgeon
