MOTOR SERVICE SECTION
RULE 203 SUPERVISION. The Motor Se rvice Section
shall be under the di r ect con trol o f a
me mber or employee who shall be known as the
commanding officer and shall h ave the immediate
superv iSion, subj ect to the orders of the
commanding officer of the Services and Supplie
s Division, of all members and employees
assigned to duty therein.
RULE 201+ RESPONSI BI LI1Y. The commanding officer
of the Motor Service Section shall be
responsible for all maintenance and service
record s , the repairs to department ve hicles
and v e hi c ular equipment, the appraisal of
damages and adj ustmen t of repair ch arges for
such vehicles and vehicular equipment.
RULE 205 DAMAGE TO EQUI PMEHT - INVESTI GATE.
The comma.nding office r o f the Motor Service
Section shal l inve s tigate, or cause to be investigated,
all accidents resul ting in damage
to depa.rtment vehicle s and vehicular equipment
and s hall himself appear, or be represe nted,
in court in all cases involving damage to such
equipment when placed in litigation.
RULE 206 REPAIRS - AUTHORIZE. The commanding
officer of the Motor Service Section shall
authorize all repairs to department vehicles
a. nd vehicular equipment in individu al instances
in accord a nce with s uch general instructions
as the Commi ss i one r of Police may
i ss ue. Such mino r adjustments and repairs as
the mechanics attached to this section are
competent t6 accomplish s uccessfully and effici
en tly shall be made under th e direction of
the commanding officer of the section.
RULE 207 REPORTS - DAILY OPERATIONS. The
commanding officer of the section shall receive,
investigate and act upon all reports of
