RULE 119 BUILDING PERMITS. Wh enever the<br />
erec tion. enl a r geme nt. alteration, r epair, o r<br />
removal of any building is <strong>com</strong>menced on his<br />
post. a patrolman shall require the persons in<br />
charge of such work to exhibit their pe rmit.<br />
If they do not have such a permit or refuse to<br />
exhibit it. the patrolman s h a ll dir ec t that ..<br />
all work be sto pped. He shall promptly r eport _<br />
the conditions to the desk sergeant so that<br />
the Departme nt of Buildings may be notified.<br />
RULE 120 ABSENCE - TO REPORT CONCERNING. A<br />
patrolman shall not le a ve his post except for<br />
some police or personal necessity. If required<br />
to absent himself f rorn his post. he<br />
shall record the necessity . time of departure<br />
and return, as soon as circumstances permit.<br />
He shall <strong>com</strong>municate to his <strong>com</strong>manding officer<br />
vi a the police signal box, at first opportunity,<br />
the fact of leaving his post and the reason<br />
therefor. UPon returning to his post he<br />
shall immediatel y inspect same to ascertain<br />
wheth e r any crime or depredation has been<br />
<strong>com</strong>mi tted during his abs ence.<br />
LOCK-UP KEEPER<br />
RULE 121 DUTI ES - GENERAL. A patrolman as <br />
signed to duty as a lock-up keeper shall safely<br />
keep and care for prisoners del ivered into<br />
his custody. He shall promptly report any<br />
matters <strong>com</strong> ing to h is a tten ti on wh i ch may r e <br />
quire investigation or action by his <strong>com</strong>manding<br />
officer. He shall not carry his revolver<br />
on h is person n o r permit a revolv er or any<br />
other weapon within the lock-u p .<br />
RULE 122 SEARCH PRISONERS. A lock-up keeper<br />
shall careful ly search each mal e pri soner in<br />
his lock-up and take everything from him which<br />
may be used in effecting an escape, or in<br />
