oxygen equipment, and monitoring <strong>for</strong> adequate oxygen<br />

supply; and<br />

(vi) Delegated nursing tasks.<br />

(B) Assistance means the individual requires help from another<br />

person <strong>with</strong> ADLs. Assistance may include cueing, monitoring,<br />

reassurance, redirection, set-up, hands-on, or standby<br />

assistance. Assistance may also require verbal reminding to<br />

complete one of the tasks described in OAR 411-340-<br />

0130(4)(f)(A) of this section.<br />

(i) "Cueing" means giving verbal or visual clues during the<br />

activity to help the individual complete activities <strong>with</strong>out<br />

hands-on assistance.<br />

(ii) "Hands-on" means a provider physically per<strong>for</strong>ms all<br />

or parts of an activity because the individual is unable to<br />

do so.<br />

(iii) "Monitoring" means a provider observes the individual<br />

to determine if intervention is needed.<br />

(iv) "Reassurance" means to offer encouragement and<br />

support.<br />

(v) "Redirection" means to divert the individual to another<br />

more appropriate activity.<br />

(vi) "Set-up" means getting personal effects, supplies, or<br />

equipment ready so that an individual may per<strong>for</strong>m an<br />

activity.<br />

(vii) "Stand-by" means a provider is at the side of an<br />

individual ready to step in and take over the task should<br />

the individual be unable to complete the task<br />

independently.<br />

(C) The supplement <strong>for</strong> ADLs must be used to meet identified<br />

support needs related to ADLs. The supplement <strong>for</strong> ADLs may<br />

also be used <strong>for</strong> the following services if they are incidental to<br />
