The annual report No. 165/92 of 5th November, 1892, of Mr. Cunningham,<br />
O.C, P.W.D. records the following—<br />
New Road, Leper Farm.—Owing to the proximity of the Nicosia-Larnaca<br />
Road to the buildings of the Leper Farm it was decided to divert the main road<br />
to the Southward. This diversion commenced from the Nicosia-Limassol Road<br />
near Ay. Paraskevi and rejoined the old road near Aglangia. This diversion is<br />
now classified among the Roads around Nicosia as Section VI.<br />
New Cut to New Entrance Ay. Andoni Quarter, Nicosia. This was a connection<br />
made between the newly opened Ay. Andoni Entrance and the New<br />
Entrance near the present Land Registry Office. It is now embodied in Section<br />
IV. the Circular Read of the Roads around Nicosia.<br />
Korno-Kophinou Road.—Earthwork and drainage for 4 miles completed<br />
leaving only 5 miles to connect with the Larnaca-Limassol Road at Kophinou.<br />
The length of driving road from Nicosia towards Limassol was at this time 23<br />
miles.<br />
Kophinou-Lefkara Road.—2i miles of the length opened in the previous<br />
year were metalled and this road completed.<br />
