1. INTRODUCTION COST ACTION E22: Environmental optimisation of wood protection Invitations were sent out to nine research organisations and universities in the United Kingdom to ask for their contributions to this state of the art document. Six organisations replied and this document is based on those responses together with the contribution from BRE. This document is structured to offer contact information for those participants and an introduction to their principal interests and research expertise within the scope of the COST Action E22. The second section within this report gives more detail on specific activities related to the three working groups within the COST Action E22 (Annex 2). Finally the report summarises and concludes on the state of the art in the United Kingdom. 2.
