COST ACTION E22: Environmental optimisation of wood protection 2. P<strong>ART</strong>ICIPANTS AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES In Belgium mainly 4 institutes are involved in research and approval activities in the field of wood preservation. Though major involvement of the Ghent University (RUG) by its activities in several European research projects and COST Action E22 there is also input from TCHN/CTIB, CRNFB and WEI. Finally two major producers of active ingredients for wood preservation are active with related research, namely Janssen Pharmaceutica and Buckman laboratories.
