Based on the well proven technology of<br />
medium voltage joints, Raychem offers a<br />
technically and commercially interesting<br />
solution to realise branch joints for single<br />
core polymeric insulated cables. A newly<br />
developed, mechanical connector<br />
integrated in the joint design allows a<br />
quick, simple and reliable installation.<br />
The branch joint is fully qualified to the<br />
Raychem test norm PPS 3013.<br />
<strong>Cable</strong><br />
The branch joint is designed for screened,<br />
single core polymeric insulated cables<br />
10 kV and 20 kV.<br />
For example: NAYSY, NA2XS2Y, ПвП,<br />
АПвП, YHKXS, YHAKXS, XUHAKXS,<br />
AXEKVCY, CXEKVCEY, N(A)2XSY, XHE<br />

Design of branch joints<br />
The cables are prepared as for inline<br />
joints. Before connecting the cables, the<br />
screen cut is covered with the yellow<br />
stress grading filler and a stress control<br />
tubing. The three cable ends are<br />
connected with a Raychem designed<br />
mechanical connector with shear-head<br />
bolts. Special moulded parts ensure the<br />
filling and sealing between the branch<br />
cables. Following, similar parts as for<br />
inline joints are used: Yellow void-filler<br />
over the connector, stress control tubing,<br />
dual-wall insulation and screen tubing.<br />
Copper mesh and a mechanical<br />
connector for the screen wires reestablish<br />
the metallic screen. The outer<br />
sealing is provided by a heat-shrinkable,<br />
thick-wall tubing and a 2-finger breakout.<br />
All connectors are supplied with the kit.<br />
