Born 6/3/1888, married, 29/6/1943, Fr<strong>an</strong>ces Betty Ele<strong>an</strong>or, daughter <strong>of</strong> the late Sydney Charles Clayton <strong>of</strong> Salisbury (Harare) <strong>an</strong>d had issue, Timothy Charles, born 30/1/1950. Quarterly, 1st <strong>an</strong>d 4th, vert, six escallops, three, two <strong>an</strong>d one, argent, 2nd, sable, a bend engrailed between six billets argent, 3rd, argent, a lion ramp<strong>an</strong>t gules, a border engrailed sable bez<strong>an</strong>tée. (BLG, 1952) HOLFORD OF DUNTISH COURT Lt. Col. James Henry Edward Holford, CMG, DSO & bar. Served in Matabele Campaign, 1896. Born 22/12/1873, married, 2/7/1901, the Hon. Bl<strong>an</strong>che Grosvenor, 2nd daughter <strong>of</strong> the 1st Baron Stalbridge <strong>an</strong>d died 17/2/1936 having had issue. Eldest son <strong>of</strong> Thomas Holford <strong>of</strong> Castle Hill, Dorset who was the 7th son <strong>of</strong> John Holford <strong>of</strong> Rusholme, nr. M<strong>an</strong>chester. Quarterly ermine <strong>an</strong>d erminois, upon a mount in base vert, a greyhound pass<strong>an</strong>t sable, collared Or. (BLG 1952) HOLMDEN Major Fr<strong>an</strong>k Alfred Amphlett Holmden, DSO, MB. Served as M.O. with the Mounted Inf<strong>an</strong>try in the Matabele Campaign, 1893, in Bechu<strong>an</strong>al<strong>an</strong>d <strong>an</strong>d in the Boer War, 1899 - 1902. Present at the Siege <strong>of</strong> Mafeking (Queen's medal with two clasps, King's medal with two clasps, mentioned in despatches twice). Born 9/4/1861, m. 1stly, 5/6/1906, Elsie Mary (d. 11/9/1921) eldest daughter <strong>of</strong> Richard Andrews Foster <strong>an</strong>d had issue. He married 2ndly, 5/6/1934, Nora, only daughter <strong>of</strong> Henry Clevel<strong>an</strong>d Smith, MRCS, LRCP, <strong>an</strong>d died 22/1/1935. Sable, a fess between two chevrons ermine. Born 3/10/1878, died unmarried, on active service, 17/6/1902. Great-great-gr<strong>an</strong>dson <strong>of</strong> Sir Archibald Hope, 9th Baronet <strong>of</strong> Craighall.
